Website Content Design

Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin', into the future.

So goes the Steve Miler lyric from his song "Fly Like an Eagle". Time is a critical element of good Website content creation.

How much time do you have to capture attention?

On average, from 3 to 10 seconds is all the time that readers will allow you to make your first point and gain their interest. It does not matter how they found you - by search, referral, or you personally handed someone a business card. In order to be effective, the motivational messages must also be repeated and reinforced from page to page.

The "Why" Question - What is it and does your Website answer it?

Well crafted Website content answers the question of why the reader should stay on your Website for more information, and then to make contact. Most Website content is only factual in nature. Most content writers fail to understand that facts alone do not offer motivation, believing instead that there must be some intuitive motivation within those facts. They are badly mistaken.

Have you noticed the relatively small volume of information you have read on this Website so far? That is one of the proper techniques.

What about highly technical information that cannot be covered in a few short sentences?

At Accurate Business Communications, we understand. Technical content can be shortened to the point that it is either ineffective or inaccurate. Both mean trouble. The key to attracting attention to technical information is meeting reader expectations, especially the time element, Therefore the key becomes the manner in which highly technical information is introduced. A properly formed introduction will either key the reader that this information is exactly what they are looking for instead of a waste of precious time in finding out that it was not at all what they were after. Either way, you have made a positive impression on the visitor. If they did not find what they wanted this time, there is a far greater chance that they may return. But if they are angry, they are "history"
